Join Us on Our African American Topeka History Tour

Travel the City with radical historian Donna Rae Pearson and Sherri Camp, author of “African American Topeka!”

You will see where history happened in Our Black community. See and learn about historic Black churches, homes, businesses, communities, schools and more.

Join us for a tour of African American historical Topeka landmarks. The tour begins and ends at Hotel Topeka located at 17th and Topeka Blvd (in front of Stormont-Vail Events Center) and cover Central Topeka, North Topeka, East Topeka (as far as the Women’s Prison). These tours are conducted as part of the 70th Anniversary of Brown v. Topeka Board of Education and “Our Stories: African American Topeka Before and After Brown.”
